aye yi yi.....
such a vague post with obviously no research behind it.
you should take a look at the stickies threads at the top, they will give you a low down on the equipment and whatnot. any questions for future reference should be a bit more specific...
but.. being that you are new to the game, i would suggest going all software based stuff, until you deecide to put some real money into it, (that is IF you decide to put that much moeny into it). some basic programs i would suggest for a starter would be either acid loops (i think thats the name), or fruity loops. they are relatively easy to start out on.
any specific question try the search button first, then if you dont find it, give us a post. there is no easy answer to your question, the only way youll find an answer is with hours upon hours of research, and trial and error. and a lot of fun in between!!
*edit- even the software costs money though keep in mind, but then again, doesnt the music cost money that everyone downloads? BUT, dont ask ANYTHING about file sharing, or downloading anything that is not purely legitimate andlegal or you will probably be flamed, and the thread will be closed asap- ok just had to let you knw that before you did it...*
