My trance costs: For me, well, probably 10% of my hearing at least. A few brain cells. Good relationships with my neighbours. Considerable amount of maintenance time spent on relationships. and probably $50 to $100 a week in records.

Hearing is precious . Hearing protection is underrated . Supposedly Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk fame wants to stop DJing because the noise levels are progressively ruining his hearing.

Sounds like he needs to start mixing in phones only, and buy a pair with excellent isolation.
Eh, this gets hard to calculate if you start factoring in opportunity costs as well.
