I use a program called Digital Sound Recorder, just type this in google and you can get a free version of this. (May need to be registered on some versions to record for longer than 1 minute but all you have to do is get the registry key)

Just open this while you are playing your music in real player etc and then press record, it will initially save it as a wav file but you can change it to mp3 if you want a smaller file.
