Important Question for the Ta's !

This is a question for the Ta’s in the area... And it’s something I been wanting to ask ….

Is rolling good or bad for raves and Why?

I have been on both sides of the spectrum in my life and at 25 I am slowing down in the rolling department but I still love the music and since I am a learning Dj again I wanted to know from my adopted party crew if this is bad or good for the scene and what ya’ll thought?

Definitely bad for the scene imo. I'm not saying drug use is wrong at all, but the consequences of drug use at raves and all the propoganda that comes along with it (which is 99% unjust and bullshit) have had such a negative effect on anything EDM in Texas alone. I don't blame the drugs (I think people can make up their own minds about them), I mostly blame the ignorant bureaucrats in DC and their bullshit like the RAVE act, plus all the propoganda they spread to other morons who end up with the same miscalculated opinions about how raves and electronica go hand in hand with ecstacy.

I personally have no problem with the drug use. Everyone has the right to do what they wish with their body. I, like most of my friends, do feel that if its done, it should be done in privacy and not in public. It can do nnothing but hurt the scene. I'm seeing it firsthand every time a show gets cancelled or a venue pulls out. It definitely hurts the scene immensely.

*hides his stash*

drug use/consumption happens at all kind of events; rock concerts, rap concerts, probably even at operas for all we know. I imagine the conductor doing a couple of lines before going out to do his thing.

does it hurt people's views about our scene, yes.

but i ask this, who here has attended a EDM related event that ended in a riot or where gunshots were exchanged. everyone is to darn happy checmically or not to do such things. i have seen very few fights but those guys weren't rolling, they were drinking. so there.

You know, I am unbiased in this deal. Or, I have opinions of both that weigh out evenly. I don't use drugs, personal preference (I drink like a fish though) and I can have a good time without them. I understand how it helps people feel the music and get along and I think that is awesome. To each their own. One thing I don't like is to walk into a club and have everyone around me rolling. This is not a good experience. 15 year olds wasted off their ass, some idiot walking up to me talking about God only knows what.... But hey, its a subjective thing. The image of the rave scene is already ruined through drugs and there is no amount of taking or not taking that will fix that. Go out, have fun, do what you gotta do and try to keep it out of the watchful eye.

The only thing that bugged me @ raves was to see real young kids on drugs, whether it be: handlebars, x, shrooms,...etc
Honestly and realistically drugs have always been a part of the scene. Like Dreamer stated earlier, every scene has its preference in drug. Ravers/clubbers have been taking X since the late 80's and even before that. It wasn't a big deal then because everything was underground and the government and media wasn't all over it.
If you ask me, if someone is willing to take countless pills mix it with alcohol and then take other drugs, they are really asking for it. It is these stupid ppl that killed the 'rave' scene.

yes, StupiD ppl are out there.
