Got there at 11:30. Realized this whole Thirst competition must be skewed towards the breaks side (Daniel Davillo's interest, perhaps?). Really disliked the 1st competitor. 2nd guy was pretty darn good. 3rd guy had good tracks, but couldn't mix. Left during 4th guy, as I was frustrated that Christopher Lawrence wasn't on yet at 1:30. Turns out he didn't go on til 2:30. I volunteered to do overtime at work today, so I had to be at work for 10am. Didn't want to make it a late night. I didn't bring earplugs and that was also a factor in my leaving. Either the sound was getting louder as time passed, or my ears were getting more sensitive. Either way, they felt like they were gonna bleed, and I wasn't about to sacrifice my hearing for music I didn't wanna hear anyways. System REALLY needs to adjust their soundsystem or something. It's just brutal.

Ive noticed that the last few times ive been there. In most cases louder doesnt always mean better.
I didn't even make it downtown last night. Got too drunk before hand and didn't want to risk driving. Oh well... see you all at guv!

ya i noticed that the sound system was being pushed a bit too much..maybe these competing DJs werent experienced enough to realize that they were pushin the system past its optimum performance....we all know that system is no boa, but most of the time when big names, or experienced djs are on, the sound seems to be at a good level...but other than that, good turn out, but the frontroom was the place to be that night

I agree- front room had better tunes most of the time I was there, but with the new layout (it being a front/ walk-thru room, and not a private side room), needing to keep the doors open causes a lot of sound bleed between rooms.
