i love the composition in the beginning.. but once the kick comes in i dont like it much at all.. i would of made the entire track classical since that intro was so cool.. but that's just me
the main lead sounds pretty good for software.. but the general mastering is really weird.. the kick and bass is pretty flat and I dont care much for the hi-hat with (what seems like) a turned up attack
curious.. none of the programs you meantioned are capable of such a nice piano.. so what did you use for that?
Yummy production... I really really like this track a lot. It seems a bit lost early in the track (until about 4 minutes that is), and I wasn't a huge fan of the soft melody with the hard bass, but after reaching the massive energy driving melody later in the track... I'M IN LOVE!!! I love the driving melody... it reminds me a lot of a Flutlicht production (whom I miss dearly).

i love the main part of the tune, with that plucky sound with that amazing pitch lfo on it (or whatever it is) i dont like the break much, its nice, but the notes are a bit to scattered for my taste, its hard to know whats going on, perhaps a bassline here would help. the section between 3:09 and about 4:30 is flawless in my eyes, i love it. but i would love to hear the whole track based around that. i think the rest of the track lets it down, but that part is just gorgeous. i would love to remix just that part on its own, could you send me a wav of the main riff with that oscilation plucky synth? and maybe a simple midi? would love to have a go at remixing just that part.

thanks alanzo for the detailed critique
I also forgot to mention what I used for the piano... which is nothing more than a simple freebie synth called mda Piano along with some reverb and EQing
Glad it sounds like some good ole Flutlicht to you Stories... I always loved their productions...
Mike, the plucky sound is just a plucked sample with some added LFO, pitch tuning, and detune...
PM me with what parts you want (MIDI, samples, etc...) and I'll send it t you.. Oh.. and sorry you are wrong with the piano
thanks for the feedback

I don't know what to say! Melody is nice, but construction of track is wrong! I don't know how to explain this! And quality is not so good as it can be!!! Whatever, good work!!!

I think the problem with this is that you simply have too many ideas. I like the opening (even with the kick I still dig it). I think there is simply too much stuff going on for this to be your normal trance track, you have to simplify. Maybe you could take some of these ideas and make 2 or 3 songs (or call them remixes of this one track if you think they are too similar to be called different songs). You have some really great sounds going on but it is all over the map.

I like the pads & piano a lot. I think it could use a different kick, one that is a little less punchy, and I'm not sure I like the oscillation on the main melody.. it makes it sound a little out of tune.
There is a lot of intensity and drive in your song - good stuff!

thanks all you guys for your opinions... dbl, looper, auujay, sooper
I can see and agree withy our points about too many ideas being put into one song... and I think that is a valid point...
One thing I am trying to do is innovate from the typical trance sound and I usually want to try a lot of different things and put them in a track...
I have a question however... Do you think that if the arrangement and flow of the track was better, would the track not sound as much "all over the place?" Is the only solution to this to not have so many elements?? ... I do want to make some different trance from the typical one-liner lead synth into something more evolving, and is there a way to do this and still have everything flow?
