Yankee vs Boston - AL Predictions!!!

Is it easy for me to start calling Boston out saying Boston sucks blah blah blah or make a thread sayins "Oh we beat the shit out of Boston"

duely noted:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...t=Yankee+Boston

And it is so obvious how you Boston Fans have this chip on your shoulders about Yankee Fans. Why is it that Boston fans have a problem with Yankee Fans wearing their team's logo IN Boston and when you guys come here you occupy a decent amount of seats, are obnoxiously loud about your team and at the same rate, do not receive the same scrutiny as we do at your home town. Ok well this point has been beated to death. IMHO - Boston people are way too obnoxious..

Ok, now for the real topic of discussion...

I believe Boston is playing their game the right way. The Twins are leading the AL West and are clearly dominating. If I were the Yankee's, I'd love to slide into the Wild Card slot and play Oakland in the first round and let Boston play the Twins.

From the Yankee standpoint, letting Boston and the Twins battle it out would make for a better series since we will go up against Oakland in the first round. Personally I'd like to see Boston and Twins duke it out and have us root for Boston since Min is so strong. Hopefully making haste of Oakland and playing Boston for the AL Title.

Even though I'm a huge yankee fan and will be rooting for them forever, i have this feeling the world series will be

Minnesota vs St. Louis
Minnesota in 6 my prediction...

if the yankee's make the world series..
Yankees vs St. Louis
Yankees in 7

bryan...you meant to say that the twins lead the AL Central...

anyway, i love to see the yanks and the cards in the series...two of the most winningest franchises in baseball history head-to-head...besides, those two lineups together in one game is such a wet dream to me....

boy it was a real treat to watch the yankees trash the red sox over the weekend. specially that punk varitek going 0-10 for the series and pedro getting clobbered on the mound. i couldnt have asked for a better outcome. i also watched timlin try to start trouble again by throwing at 2 consecutive hitters. boston is just plain weak.

you're right it's monday morning i blame it on dunkin donuts! haha
Oakland is coming out of the AL West and Minnesota leading the AL Central.

I'd love to watch Minnesota and Boston go at it

As for Varitek, I'm almost positive he is hurt somehow, did you see his cuts at the ball? either that or he feels that nonchalant swings are the way to go....tek usually eats up NY ballpen so I dunno...

If you think the Twins will be harder to beat in a 7 game series than the Red Sox will be, you're crazy. Sure... the Twins are guaranteed to win at least 2 games because of Johan Santana (left handed Pedro... Pedro even said it himself). Other than that, Radke is pretty good too, but past those two guys... they have nothing. The Red Sox are definitely the best team in the AL (and I'm not just saying that for whatever reason). Add Wakefield (who the Yankees can't hit) to Pedro and Schilling... plus Lowe has been pretty good since the trades. Orlando Cabrera is starting to look like a Yankee killer (thank god, he always killed the Mets). However, I do think the Yankees will win the division with the Sox for the WC. But the point is that the Twins would definitely be easier than the Red Sox. But, I still think that any of the AL teams could make it to the series. All three of the other teams have proved they can beat the Yankees this year. Plus, when Orlando Hernandez is your ace, that's really bad... (Granted, he's been wicked this year)

I'm a huge Yankee fan, but I think this race is far from over. I believe that Boston will take the next series from the Yanks 2-1. I think the more important series for Boston is against Baltimore. If they split or drop the series, they'll be in a world of trouble. Yanks got 3 vs Toronto, 3 vs Boston, 3 vs Min, and 3 vs Toronto left.
Boston's got 4 vs Baltimore, 3 vs the Yanks, 3 vs TB and then 4 vs Baltimore w/ a double header on 10/2.

It's gonna be a tight race in the East.

My predicts: Yanks take division, Boston takes WC

Yanks vs Boston in Al championship: Yanks in 7

Yanks vs Cards in WS. Cards in 5

yanks will win the division
and my prediction is if the yanks can beat oakland in the first round and they play as well as they did this weekend then it will be a good seris but yanks will win in 5
as for the nl its gonna be dodgers or the cards
and if its the cards i think they will beat the yanks but if its the dodgers it will be a good seris and yanks should win in 6

good discussion going on here. i like the idea that the cards will give the yanks a run for their money and probably even take it from us in the WS. if the dodgers make it to the WS, then I have a good feeling the yanks can take it from them despite dropping 2 of 3 earlier this season.

Above all else, i think Minnesota vs St. Louis would make a nice WS.
Who knows, its baseball in the fall lets see how it plays out.

go yankees. why? cause im not a local, so i don't give a fuck. and yes dude red sox = monster chip - all they ever do is cause problems around here, and there fans show the world there bitterness time and time again.... e.g. Storrow Dr. saying "Reverse Curve" is repeatedly changed to "reverse the curse"

I'm not a boston fan. but come on, any team that has gone that long without winning anything would have bitter fans....the rangers went 54 years without a stanley cup and people around here had to listen to all their whiny fans for quite a while. It's perfectly normal.

im sure the cubs fans are bitter too (probably not as bad as sox fans though) for the same reason.

I'm a firm believer in that once the playoffs begin, anything can and will happen (ie: Marlins, Angels, D-Backs). Here's a breakdown of the pitchers and players you should be scared of:

NL
Dodgers
Jeff Weaver (yes... THAT Jeff Weaver. He's been a hell of a lot better than Brown)
Odalis Perez
Brad Penny (back from the DL... he was dope last year in the playoffs)
Eric Gagne
Yhency Brazoban (came over in the Kevin Brown trade)
Adrien Beltre (in a Bondsless world, he'd be MVP)
Jayson Werth
Steve Finley
Milton Bradley

Cardinals
Ummm... they have NO pitcher that scares me. Not one... even in the bullpen. However...
Albert Pujols (best player not named Bonds... )
Scott Rolen (until a-rod proves me wrong, best 3B in baseball)
Jim Edmonds (most underrated of the three)
Edgar Renteria
Larry Walker

Braves
Jaret Wright
John Smoltz
J.D. Drew
Chipper Jones
Johnny Estrada (who? ... exactly)
Andruw Jones

Cubs
(I think you all forgot about them in your predictions for the NL. Everyone says the Cardinals because of their record, but... LOOK)
Mark Prior
Kerry Wood
Matt Clement
Carlos Zambrano (mega underrated)
Greg Maddux
Aramis Ramirez
Moises Alou
Sammy Sosa (still Sammy...)
Derek Lee
Nomar Garciaparra

AL
Athletics
(You know the drill)
Tim Hudson
Mark Mulder
Barry Zitto
Rich Harden
Octavio Dotel
Eric Chavez
Erubiel Durazo
Eric Byrnes

Twins
Johan Santana (the scariest pitcher in the playoffs)
Brad Radke
Joe Nathan
Lew Ford
Justin Morneau

Yankees
Orlando Hernandez
Tom Gordon
Mariano Rivera (but if it comes down to the Red Sox, he isn't as invincible as he usually is)
Derek Jeter
Alex Rodriguez (though he still hasn't done much to prove he can handle big game pressure)
Gary Sheffield
Hideki Matsui

Red Sox
Pedro Martinez
Curt Schilling
Keith Foulke
Manny Ramirez
David Ortiz
Trot Nixon
Orlando Cabrera (call me crazy... or biased [he's been my favorite SS for like 5 years], but i think he's poised to have a great post season)

Those are the favorites. I'll just do the Astros and Giants, just in case... cause baseball is wacky and wackier things have happened.

Astros
Roger Clemens (still doin' it)
Roy Oswalt
Brad Lidge
Lance Berkman
Jeff Bagwell
Carlos Beltran (say hi to your new CF, Yankee fans)

Giants
Jason Schmidt
AJ Pierzynski
JT Snow
Barry Bonds (who? he's had the best season in baseball history, yet no one seems to care as much as they should. and every year he makes more of a case that he is the greatest hitter of all time)

Well, there ya have it folks. Shamus' Guide to the 2004 Post Season. Hope you recognize some of the more obscure names when you're watching this year.
