Numark DM2002X [Please Help Me!]

Is this a scatch mixer, what are the transform buttons for, and if you fade all the way to one channel is it supposed to cut off the opposite channel..most crossfaders do this but this one doesnt..for some reason when i cross to eather channel it just changes the sound from stereo to mono. i have replaced the cross fader with a new one..but it doesnt work. i bought this new (supposidly) from a pawn shop. ive opened it and there are absolutly no obvious problems with the interior of it. I cannot find any info about this mixer, please help

on a side note..i also bought used Microh turntables.....any info would be welcomed on this.

these are my first turntables/mixer..
negative criticism is not welcomed

Yes, its a scratch mixer, not a very popular one either...if you replaced the fader and it still has the same problem the mixer is just probably made that way (perhaps this is why its so unpopular) Also be sure you play around with everything, i've never used a scratch mixer, but if it has fader curve (which most scratch mixers do) that should change the way the fader acts.

Your turntables, i assume are the Microh cyan TTs? If so they have direct drive at least...not sure how reliable they are though, but they should be alright for your first setup. if you bought them from a pawn shop, just use them and enjoy them for as long as they will work seeing as theres no warrantee. Do you mind if i ask how much you paid for this stuff?

Oh yeah and did you see any other dj gear in any pawn shops? I've never looked around for equipment from pawn shops.

i bought the two turntables and the mixer for a little more than 700 i think...my dad bought it for me
and lol i got the mixer to work..inside there was a bad connection with one of the wires...it took alot of searching and a good magnifying glass

but these turntables..i dunno they seem good enough to me..i put new shure stylus' in there and it sounds ALOT fresher and cleaner..the slip mats that came with it..ugh the felt was all torn and shit..ugly

but they seem to have alot of power..alot.

is there any possible way to callibrate the pitch? Very rarely the pitch goes up for like a second and goes back down..and im sure you know the shit that can create..

since i cannot take them back..i guess im just gunna have to live with them and practise as much as i can and just work with them till i can get my self some numarks or technics

The Numark DM2002X is not really much of a scratch mixer imo, I have a DMX2002EX and I like it because of the fact it has 3 channels and all 3 channels have bass, mid and treble rotary nobs and total kills.

As for the transform buttons they only punch in the music which is being played on the other channel, or if you hold both it gives you crossfader reverse. I never use them if you want to slam it over the top/scratch just use the crossfader this will improve your skills and will also be much cleaner with practise.

As for the crossfader beware of this they are shit and tend to bleed within not long of having it, they are cheap to replace tho, prob why they are shit.
