When you go to a live gig, what do you expect to hear ?

Hello,

I'm asking this because I just got of the phone and I found a part-time job I can do next to my studies, and enabling me to get my laptop back aaaah !

I will do live gigs, but I have a couple of questions.

I'm a musician before being a producer, so I enjoy playing music on my main instrument piano. Now I composed about 5 nice tracks, that I will translate into very chilled trance songs, with the piano still as a piano, but with strings and a couple of pads to keep it nice and warm. But almost no beat. I have 5 songs like these, all different as hell, but the same chilled style. Would you enjoy watching/listening to this at a live gig ? You can be brutally honest here, you won't hurt my feelings It's not a slow song, like grab a girl and slow with her, it's just downtempo.

Also I remix a couple of songs, let's say for example (just an example) I remixed the theme from a TV-show, I haven't, but I mean, it totally doesn't fit with trance. Taking that you KNEW the show wasn't going to be one style only, would you enjoy listening to it after a couple of chilled songs ? (taking you enjoyed them).

I also make house music, which I can in turn play live now, would you mind listening to that in a set like this ?

I've been thinking about doing something like this :

-Intro, chilled song, one of these per gig only. Instead of all five (and every week I make at least a new one so, every gig a new intro I guess for the next 3000 years ) -> 8 minutes.
-An atmospheric trance song, no piano involved. ->5-6 minutes.
-A trance song, so I don't break to much with the previous song. And preferably a chilled trance song, but with a nice kick/bass now though. ->6 minutes ?
-Another trance track in this genre -> 6 minutes ?
-A rather hard-trance track -> 5 minutes
-A house track that is stil a bit tranzy ->5 minutes
-A house track -> 5 minutes
-A remix of a freakishly weird song, maybe even a bad one as an original, but a good remix (at least I'd like to think so lol) -> 5 minutes

That's about 45 minutes.

So I have room to put stuff in between of the same genre, but I don't know what, I mean I realise the slower piano songs are nice and all, but maybe not what you want to hear at a gig. So I think I'll stick to just one. And then maybe add 2 other remixes at the end, and at least one extra trance song.

What do you think ?

Let me know please. No hurry though, have months untill it's my turn
I will record my gigs everytime, if I'm happy with them I'll upload them But again, that's far away, I'm talking summer 2005.
