Grrrrr. Too damn expensive. Worked all of July just go afford my mk5's. Now this next check will all be spent on vestax 275 mixer and ortofon needles. And the last 400 I have will be spent on School clothes and some gas money. Sorry just had to vent on how a very fun hobby is too damn expensive. I remember when Pog's and jaxx's used to entertain me for hours. And it cost under $10!! Oh well *hums* *Music is my destiny*

I made the mistake of getting a lower end mixer, and now my sets, even when they are matched perfectly, sound shitty, cuz the mixer can't actually MIX the sound properly, so now its time to upgrade, and its looking like I will be spending around $800-1200.. But I also have to move out here soon and thats gonna kill my wallet too... but I am NOT gonna give up this hobby... its too damn addictive..

don't sweat it man..
after you buy your tables, mixer, and needles, you won't have to buy any more equipment for some time. you just have to worry about vinyl but.. i bought my tables and mixer about four years ago and haven't spent anymore money on them since.
if you're looking for cheap vinyl, check the bargain bins at your local vinyl store. they even have good vinyl for a dollar if you get lucky. or you can buy ten for ten bucks.

One technics deck costs around 450$ in USA. I bought mine here in Slovakia for 690$ (converted from Slovakian currency).
The average monthly salary here is around 420$.
So if you think about it, you can have 5-7 decks from 1 monthly salary, I need to save 2 my salaries to buy one deck

When I got my turntables, I swore that was all the equipment I needed...
Now I'm working the whole month of august just to buy me 2 CDJ800's... It just never stops
Progressiveplay's right there. And also, be sure to check ebay. I've found wonderful records there for a VERY nice price.

Well i hope you don't mind me asking a stupid question, but why didnt you order from Germany. They have lots, and i mean LOTS of online dj-shops with good prices. (I think a SL1200mk2 is around 470€) I guess shipping charges are pretty low to slovakia.
Some to mention: thomann.de, dj-parts.de, dj-laden.com
Well look on the upside...once you fully upgrade (or buy) your equipment to the best, you won't have to spend any more money on equipment. When I had middle of the road stuff, I found ways to upgrade sooner rather than later just to have better equipment. I have a DJM-500 and I am really tempted to buy a 600 or maybe even a xone92.
