a biased basis that grows

this is in no reference to any specific bias, just the whole concept of being bias. my thoughts have changed about whether being bias was right or wrong. since i was a child i always thought racism, profiling, being bias was wrong. though i do still see it as wrong in most cases, my views have changed over the years, as i grow to experience and meet more and more people of those particular sects. the sect could be a nationality, political party, religous group, economic group, whatever.
i mean, lately ive met more and more blacks that have been very aggresive, mean, 'thugged out' jerk-offs. and lately, i cant help but feel when i see a random african american walking down the street, a bit biased, because about 60-70% of blacks that ive met have been dicks, or wankers as you euros would put it. also, many poor citizens ive met lately seem to have some issue against me because my parents paid for my house, car, and school...
i am not racist, i have just noticed i put up a wall inside when i meet a stranger of some faction that has caused me stress or discomfort in the past. maybe its my stress/discomfort that they have felt, and in turn reflect back onto someone of the faction i would belong to, and it just keeps going and going in a messed up circle, until people are just blatently racist.

but, as much as i KNOW racism, profiling, whatever you want to call it, is wrong, should i take the risk of being politically correct and nice only to have a somewhat good chance to be burned, because the statistics of my past experiences show a pretty good chance that i will probably be burned than not...

anyone else feel like this or have any input? please, dont take any reference to the black or poor thing, ive also met african-american/inner city people that i have grown close too, and would call very good friends, though they were fellow athletes, so maybe thats why they were cool with me, i dunno...

was this post too damned long for you to take the time to read?
just something thats been on my mind for a while...

im not saying i should be racist toward a group if ive had bad experiences with someone of that faction in the past, its just i notice i am on guard and a bit more and closed off in certain situations, when i know the feeling is wrong to have without meeting that person as an individual. but you cant control your feelings, but you CAN control your actions of course.

i know exactly what you mean. Instead of african-americans, well...actually its all thugged out looked people. some sort of hate grows inside me when i meet them or see them. i mean you dont just get these feelings on just thugged out people..and its not always feelings of hate...
but i try to keep an open mind and remeber the fact that everyone is a different person..they all think and act differently. you shouldnt judge someone by there apperance.. but nowadays..so many people act like fucking sheep that the first impression you get on a thugged out person..is usually 80% true in my case..
You shouldnt do this..but you cannot help it. its a combination of your thoughts and feelings and the why society acts..
weird thing 'tis

i reread my post and think i could/should have given a different example so hopefully no one would take it too personally.
so... heres another example of how i could understand someones bias..

if an arabic person was in the states, dressed in the attire of islam or whatnot, and was walking down the street, and was a very honest, good, hard working citizen. when a drunken caucasion male drives by and yells some racial slur, then the next day the man walks into a store and a caucasion clerk is rude and he overhears some racist caucasion person in line behind whisper a comment about his clothes/ religion. so if i were him, i would understand how he would feel biased towards caucasions in that, the next time he met one, he may feel the chances of the caucasion to be a jerk to him to be better than when he met an african american... so i would almost understand his biased, but still, ive always thought bias/racism was wrong...

Where do you get a figure like that from? That is bordering on a racist attitude, whether you want to admit or not. Is it possible that your view of them is biased towards them? Is it possible that you might have prejudices against them, before you even begin to judge them?

I think i understand what you are trying to say - you have had bad experiences with people in the past, and they happened to be black. Henceforth, your views of black people have been influenced by your past negative experiences.

However, it is still wrong to judge an entire race of people based on the actions of a select few. The sad thing is that people do that all the time.

I know that in my country, people have heard about islamic terrorism and wars, and normal, veryday muslims have been discriminated against because of this (despite the fact that they have nothing to do with this. There have also been well-publicised cases of gang rape by muslim teens (they got 55 years) and other violence in the community. It is commonplace for people of Middle Eastern descent to be called "Lebbos" (Lebanese) in Australia, regardless of what country they are from. They have gained the sterotype of being violent, antisocial and disruptive because of the actions of a few. There is also strong cultural diffences at play that contribute to this.

I just find it really sad that people judge a whole culture, religion or race based on the actions of a select few. I think that i have been able to see through it and i'm a very tolerant person, but that is obviously not the case for everyone.

I always laugh when people counter an argument with me saying, "well thats because your biased". First of all, I dont like to be prejudice against someone or some people, unless its for a joke, so rule me out for your petty, little rebuttle. Secondly, ofcourse I am biased you sack of shit, we're all biased in some way or another, why, because you are not the person, place or thing you are usually arguing about, so welcome to "opinion world", where half the shit you spew out of your mouth is going to be biased.

Biased, what a stupid word.

As for profiling, I think that there are certain times profiling can be good, like for security reasons. But most often the case it gets misused by people of authority because they lack a certain chromozone that differenciates their intelligence from a normal person and chimp.

Its kinda frustrating when youre a white guy, your country is beeing "invaded" with people from iran, iraq, somalia, pakistan (you name it ) And they DONT do shit !
Ok, some of them are hard workers like my family (mum & dad works, both my sisters have jobs, studies at the university too (chemistry and nursing) and I've been working almost all the vacation) And they just sit on their asses, getting paid because i'm paying taxes. And in top of it, they are the one who fight and kill... (dont get me wrong, all norwgeian people are 100 % perfect, not all of them work, and some of them kill too.) But, the way I see it, is that the majority of black people are "bad" folks.

Call me a racist if you like, I'm proud of beeing white, go to school and work.

Nobody here needs to call you a racist, you already painted yourself that color awhile ago.

So be proud of your white heritage, and remember, if it aint white, it aint right...

Also, your name is uber-gay.

If it's brown flush it down.

More seriously, everyone is biased and should be. For example, I am prejudiced against touching a stove top when the knob is set to "high" as opposed to when it is set to "off." Accusations of bias are not a refutation or a challenge to any argument or assertion unless backed up by what information, specifically, was hidden or obscured by the bias.

here is a simple way to keep racism out of the issue.

seperate the people you meet/know into 2 groups. one called "wankers" and one called "not wankers". colour of skin has nothing to do with it. its the wanker within the person that makes all the difference.

you can usually spot a wanker a mile off...
