Since when has there been such restrictions on TA? I know its been awhile, but I was trying to figure out who all is going to Labour of Love, and it tells me such post can only be done 7 days prior to event?!?!? What else has changed?
I don't know of any restrictions such as those...? But I've been in Europe for 7 weeks before coming home so I don't know? Unlikely that Del would put something like that into TA (I think).

no it is right, if you remember that there is an event section and there are rule written in there.
you can talk about the event until one week in the event thread.

You can talk about the event all you want, but it must be inside the event thread. Roll calls are allowed the week of the event.
The reason why we've had to implement such measures is to prevent promoters from spaming the main forum, which was happening in the not so distant past. The idea is to have meanfull discussion in the main forum and not just event related threads.

I think it's a good idea because some people make roll call threads 3-4 weeks ahead and they are on page 3 on the day of the event.
If you want to just talk about the event why not post within the promoter's/initial thread in the events subforum?

because there is no discussion in the events thread now that they are in a separate forum. Not nearly as much as there used to be, anyways.
Same with DJ mixes. Lots of people who frequent the main forum don't check the DJ mix thread often and they don't check the event forum often.
