forget the axis 8, theres an axis 9, and they are better + do not fuck up like the axis 8. most of the features are the same (with the axis9 having the odd one more here and there) but its mainly the firmware.. apparently the axis8's fuck up a lot.
the main things that the axis 9 has and cdj100 hasn't (and most of them included on the 8 too) are:
touch sensetive jog wheel
scratch cue (and an option for stutter cue.. bleh) - cdj only has stutter
12 effects, including "sleep" which isn't included on most of the top of the range cdj's for some reason.
you can have 3 effects on at once.
realtime scratching (4 modes of)
2 seamless loops
3 hot cues
3000 cue point storage
beatkeeper III (best beat counter in the world. amazing for use with seamless loops and effects)
start/brake speed alteration
not sure on the pitch range on a cdj100, axis 8/9 = +/-6%, 12%, 25% & 100%
keylock (one of the best i have heard)
the pro's of having a cdj100:
it will last a bit longer
