Do you want to be Josh Wink - Follow these steps

Josh Wink is a well known artist and I'm sure many of you want to be like him, so I'm going to tell you the steps for success

1)Be friends with a talented artist, because you are a no talent hack
2)Steal that friend's technique or song and claim it as your own and then break off the friendship
3)Make a song, slightly change the name, even thought it is so blatant that you stole it (french kiss and phreak are great examples :stongue
4)Threaten to sue the artist that originally did the song, when he gets angry about you stealing his work (worked with dan bell )
5)Claim your innocence in the press, when the artist badmouths you in the press (a la dan bell)
6)Get your label to sort out the legal mess as a result of your thievery (french kiss springs to mind)
7)Then hammer the fuck out of the song and act like it was your creation and then millions will worship you and every artist with talent will want you dead

there you go, the seven steps to be Josh Wink

I just know that Wink will receive this via email from one of his loyal supporters. Stealing other's work is lame wink and you know it.

Man TTA, once every three months or so you go off on Wink. Actually recently you've added ATB, with good cause. Soon as I saw the thread title + starter I knew it was gonna be another ripoff thread.

Yeah man, you've made your point more than once before. Give it a rest, eh?

Find us some different stories to talk about...

I had not gone off on Wink in 6 months

it's not a rip off thread, it's all true

let's look at the facts here

Wink steals Dan Bells's song and technique, releases a slightly changed song with almost the same name, bell gets mad, wink threatens to sue Bell, then bell gets fucked off, tells the world, wink fires back.

Wink steals french kiss, releases his vs. version, the label people sue, wink's label people sort out the mess.

you want new names that ripoff others besides ol atb and winkleman

what about l-vee's recent single that is his 2nd straight ripoff of the xpander. I knew l-vee was running low on ideas but ripping off the xpander should get you shot.

The resemblance between Spooky - Little Bullet and Xpander is smaller than that between Xpander and Lolo - Why. Plus Charlie May is behind Spooky, and also co-wrote and co-produced Xpander, so technically if it's going to be considered a ripoff, he's ripping himself off.

But Lolo - Why is definitely a blatant ripoff of Xpander, only annoying because the final cadence is changed. I keep wanting to hear the original ending to the riff and I hear L-Vee's sorry attempt at a cover.

It's partially a derivation further down the timeline, certainly.

The Spooky - Gargantuan album was foresight.

Charlie May has helped Sasha co-produce.

It is quite fine, in this regard.

As for Josh Wink... one thing I've learned from him is not to get 303s too confused with 202s

Tranc3 I like your avatar, is that a parody of a well-known corporate logo of some sort?
