It's just the way the artist wanted to name it...

Generally you use "mix" when your remix has an alternative name. For example Delerium - Silence (Dj Tiësto's In Search of Sunrise Mix). If it didn't have a remix name it would be just (Dj Tiësto Remix). But it doesn't make any difference, you can name your mixes however you feel like.

also artists often name their remixes "mix" if its a remix of their own track.

eg

Pervading Call - Destiny (Ace's Delight Mix)

both pervading call and ace's delight are alias of the same guy. and so mix is used as opposed to remix.

Yeah I always see remix being done by someone else and mix being done by the original artist.
