I get the feeling that this is going to become a long, heated thread.... 
In any case, I stand by what I've said all along: this was the wrong war at the wrong time, fought for the wrong reasons. The question of whether Iraq will be better off without Saddam cannot yet be answered, as it remains to be seen how successful the "reconstruction" and "democratisation" of Iraq is. Even if these pursuits are successful (which we probably won't know for another 5 years or so, maybe longer) the criticisms remain valid.
On the other hand, I must admit that it is undoubtedly good that we got rid of Saddam Hussein and replaced him with a murdering, secular authoritarian who imprisons dissenters and wasn't elected by the Iraqi pe...... oh, wait a second. :-/
