I have a question regarding invites. I asked for an invite, but luckily got one from two different people, now, I'm not that greedy to create two accounts and have 2gb storage space, but a friend asked me if I could forward him the mail with the invite. Would this actually work?

It should. You can edit your name and current e-mail there, so I don't see why it shouldn't.
