Heading To Melbourne & Adelaide..
Crap Perth Dj Heading to Melbourne & Adelaide...
I'm a 20 yr old Breaks/Tech House/Progressive DJ from Perth. I'm thinking about heading to both Melbourne & Adelaide sometime later this year and on top of seeing the sights and enjoying my holiday, I wouldn't mind entertaining the possibility of playing at a few parties.
I have a whole bunch of sets online if anyone wishes to check them out, however, posting cd's is not a problem.

Hey mate,
Not sure if this is any use but it'd be worth contacting Dean Millson who's involved with a few progressive nights down here (he posts under the name bigbrother on ITM). Your sound would probably suit the nights he runs on Firdays at Tilt (melodic prog + breaks) and they're usually good about giving younger DJs a run there. Also, didn't you recently book James Young to play in Perth? Get in contact with him and see if he can get you a gig @ ascend - again it's your sort of sound and they have regular guest spots (except it's only on once a month so it kinda depends on when you're gonna be down here :-/).

Yeah I've emailed Dean. Still waiting for a reply from him.
It doesn't look like I can make it for an end of the month gig @ Ascend. Does Altitude organise any other decent nights?

The other Friday nights are Likuid (tech-house night, not usually guest spots though - might be worth dropping Lance Harrison a line on ITM though if you're interested) and then BPM and Transcend (which aren't your style). Haven't been to a Saturday night there, but I think it's more commercially geared.

Not that I'm aware of, but I'm sure there'd be a couple of smaller nights if you knew where to look.
Might be worth posting something on the TS Melbourne Forum, because there's a big prog following on that board and a few people there are pretty well connected. You'd probably have a better chance of getting a response there than on ITM at least. Apart from that, I'm not sure if there's much else you can do.
