Have any of you had a sibling diagnoised with Cancer?
Okay..It has taken me a few days to get back to a normal mindset to make this post. Mostly all the Atlanta TA's, some Florida TA's and the people that speak to me often know what has been going on with me since last Thursday. My 18 brother a senior in high school was diagnoised withHodgkins Disease. Of course I was very upset all weekend and bummed. All I can think about is he is 18 and a senior, He shouldn't be having to worry about Cancer as well. He will start kemo next friday and will maybe last for 2-3 months. Have any of you expeniced anything that I am going thru. He is my baby brother and I'm the closet to him.

Thats really a shame...being 18...I couldn't imagine having to deal with that now...
Dunno if you read a post by me awhile back, but my dad (62) is fighting cancer right now. You just have to stay positive...it's the only thing to do...

I think the best is to act like it isn't a big deal...don't ignore it, but just concentrate on having good times together.
Healing is mental too...I doubt the happier you are the better your chances...at least thats what I believe...

Sorry... I feel your sorrow and sadness.
I found out my older brother had stomach cancer last November or so. A few months later they operated and were able to remove the tumor. I flew and stayed at his place for over a week for the operation.
He recently finished his radiation and chemotherapy - unfortunately I wasn't able to be there with him during this (I live in LA and he lives in San Antonio). It's been very tough for him - chemo and radiation therapy just kills your appetite. Your brother might lose a lot of weight.
My brother's doing better now (in fact, I should call him up soon).
So you're not alone!! Stay strong and keep your brother in good spirits. He's young, and I'm sure he'll do fine.

I wish you and him all the best.
He should learn about Mario Lemieux and his courageous battle with that same disease.

Hodgkins Disease, same thing my dad had, but he has gotten over it now, (though it did required some rather.... involved proceedures, bone marrow transplants and what not).
But he's an old buggar, so if he can beat it (and he's fine now, back to a normal life) I'm sure a young fit 18y/o can too.

It was your little brother? For some reason, this never crossed my mind, I thought it was the elder one all the way. Like I told you on the phone, it's very sad but your also alternatively lucky that it was diagnosed so early. I cant give you much advice on this situation other than the fact that youve got my thoughts and support in any way you need it. If you ever need to contact me, you know where Im at.
