all inclusive resorts in Callie and I are planning one in the Mayan Riviera |
funny, me and my friends were just there last week...resort we stayed at was pretty boring so we had to spend a little extra just to get around places. Highlights of the trip were the pyramid at chichen itza and snorkeling at the reefs (puerto morales to be exact). Cancun was kinda disappointing. We went to "The City" and the music they played tried to cater to everyone. Let's just say they even played Shania Twain. If you're into nature and zoos, go to xcaret. If you're into snorkeling, try xel-ha (didn't visit this but my friends were disappointed with xcaret). There's also a really nice beach with ruins at tulum. If you're looking to buy souvenirs, go on the side roads and buy from the local mayans. Only problem is they don't speak english well so it's hard to bargain. And don't forget to get drunk every night since it's all-inclusive. Alcohol there is pretty cheap too compared to here. Oh man, I think I have to join AA now.
