Unhappy

hello

a few weeks (maybe months) ago i just loved this site because there were so many new songs about every week and they were quite good too...
but since the new year... we got some new songs...
song i really didn't like (that's ofcourse my opinion)..
and it seems this site is becoming more and more a place to talk about trance, instead a place to get some good trancesongs from

i think that's a bit disappointing...

ADK

(this forum still rocks)

Unhappy Sorry but.............

I kinda agree with ADK, but I have to say, the forums are great. But the new songs kinda suck.
I hope that some of ou can do something about that, cause it's my favourite-Trance-site.

Points to ponder:

1) I'm not in any MP3 groups so I don't get the new vinyl releases as they come out so I can't go and pick and choose the stuff I think might be good and then listen to verify that it IS good

2) All of the stuff on my Request list is tracks that are worthy of posting, except, nobody ever sends them

3) A lot of people upload mixes/mp3s/etc to me but 90% of it either sucks bad or I have it already or it's so extremely popular that I don't think I need to post it since it's readily accessible elsewhere (i.e. napster)

4) Based on #3 - It takes time to listen to everything and decide if it's worthy of being posted.. Quality before quantity.. You know something is a 'HIT' by just reading my description.. you can tell if it's great or is just 'O.K.'

5) Yes this site is about the new tracks but there's also more to it than that and I'm working on that stuff as well and EVERYTHING takes time - so that'll be ready in a few months

6) I work full time and any free time I have 90% of it is spent working on stuff that's site related - find another mp3 webmaster that gets 20+ emails a day and answers most of them the same day.

And to finish think of it this way:

If you had access to an FTP site that was up 24/7 and you had LEECH access and could log in whenever you wanted and download as much as you wanted without ever giving anything back -- would you email the siteop asking when they're gonna put up more stuff?

I didn't think so...

yep

Those comments sound like they are soming from peeps who have never made a website before. There is a ton of shitty work involved and with the improvements Swamper has made, I am not surprised that the mp3s have suffered. This site is light years beyond any other music site I have seen out there, well specific genre music site anyways. I think we can give Swamper all the time in the world to get everything working smooth again. Peace.

I usually come to this site to find out what's going on in the trance world, check for any new live sets and look for cue lists...The forms are good, lots of variety...

I think what would make this site awsome is to post the full versions of the tunes that are used in the live sets that are posted on this site...Everyone can easily contribute to the section, and swamper can list who upped it giving credit where credit is due...

right Swamper !!

Cool Man, you understand whats up in real Life !! I also prefer a good site than a cheesy Site where you got tons of new MP3's and maybe 90 Percent are shit (in my opinion) !! I mean that quality counts more than Qiantity..that is the right word I think...OVER !! Cheers DJelloun

P.S. By the way: Swamper, I recorded a very good Classic Mix from DJ ELB (cool German DJ, former Resident at the Dorian Gray in Frankfort). I think that is the kind of Tunes you don't find often on the Net..If you want I am going to Upload it to your Site (please give me a FTP Site) and then you can decide if you want to post it or not ??

Yes they get a lot of tracks but, just the same, it's a quality assurance issue.. Most of the tracks just get posted because they have a big name behind them... even if the tune absolutely SUCKS they post 5 mixes of it..
