Windows problem, please help

I just bought a new hard drive recently(old one burned out, so i lost eveything i had) anyways, installed windows Xp on it and all the old programs and files i had backed up. Recently though I have been having a problem, when i click to open 1 specific folder my PF usage goes all the way up. It only happens on this one folder and coincidentally, when i open 1 other specific folder my CPU usage goes up to 100%(the explorer.exe(not internet explorer)goes up to almost 100 causing this. I have run ad aware removed all the spyware and stuff like that and ETrust EZ virus scan and nothing...Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? the PF usage stays high for a while lagging my computer almost to the point of freezing with anything i do. Never had this problem b4 with my old drive, and my computer is pretty good so its not a hardware issue. Any help would be dearly appreciated..
Thnx

I know..sorry but i only saw this room after i posted in the other one..Sorry about that..Anyways the contents in the folder that make the PF usage shoot up are files i download off the internet..Music, movies and incomplete bittorrent files. And the folder that makes the cpu go up is all movie files. I dunno if this has any relevance but all this started happening when i customized the icons for a couple of folders, u know just change the little icon picture on ur desktop folders(these 2 were some of them). The only other problem i noticed was that my computer clock was extremely delayed a couple of times, I think that might be due to the lag. Or could it have something to do with the motherboard battery? Well sorry for all the questions

hmmmm. This is an odd one. Try moving them files in ach of the folders to another folder and then access them . It may take a while but do it. Dont just rename the folder. If it takes a while accessing them then it might not be able to read them files properly, or there is something wrong with your disk. How is it formatted? is it NTFS?
