Any man who ends up being homeless and does nothing about it for 7 years deserves what's coming for him. But yaa, the "justice" system is a joke still.

I've been to a divorce court before. The sight of the guys coming out of there is scary, they look like they've been sentenced to hell. One guy was pale-faced, sweating, looked like he was about to die. They will try to take everything you have, and everything you will ever have. And given Canadian law they will get it, and more.
Be careful who you marry!

The man is paying a little over $1,000 a month for child support. Ya, he probably could not pay his alimony and go off and live somewhere decent but you gotta respect him. Let him be. |
You gotta be a LITTLE more selective with who you respect This guy doesn't deserve any. If he makes $40,000 and pays $12,000 in child support, that leaves him with $28,000. He could easily rent a basement for $500/mo, which would only cost him $6,000/yr and still leave him with $22,000. Of that, he could easily save $10,000 and in those 7 years, he coulda had $70,000 saved up for a downpayment on a small franchise or something. But instead he's getting evicted from a shack by the highway NO respect!

That $40,000 we're talking about, is that before or after taxes?
If it's before taxes, then it's not THAT much money, especially when you got children to support.

Just a small correction, making $40000 does not mean you get to KEEP all $40000, there is a small thing called TAX too. Also, where is this $1200/month payment coming from, the article mention's nothing of his payment amount? His payments I'm sure are more then $1200/month for 3 children.
