How difficult is it to become an officer in the New York Police Department or the Los Angeles Police Department? Obviously you have to be strong and intelligent but can anyone give me some information on this

Im not in LA or NY, but many cops I have seen must've failed either one or both parts of this examination.

cops in NYC dont get paid that great, as say compared to other surrounding areas (ie nassau county). so it isnt too hard to get in, but i believe you have to put your name in a lottery to even be called for a test. i think, as that is how it is where i live, which is the next county over from nypd.

To become an LAPD it's pretty easy. There have signs all over the damn place "JOIN LAPD", now if you want to join the Los Angeles Sheriff department, that's a different story. It is much harder to get into that. The difference? One pays much more
