Is this a good deal or not?

I have a person that wants to sell me 2 Gemini XL-500 II turntables and a Behringer VMX 200 mixer along with 40-50 records for $250. Yes, I am aware that Gemini's aren't exactly the best but as of now financially, I am no position to afford a $1,000 deck.

Think I should go with this deal or will the Geminis just go haywire a couple months down the line?

Theres a chance that the geminis will mess up in a bit, but its more likely that they will work fine for years, youll just find yourself wanting better decks in a year or so. Maybe sooner maybe later.

Behringer isnt top notch either, but i think their vmx series was more reliable than their djx series. I know a guy who got the vmx300 when it came out, and it still works fine. However, again you'll probably find yourself wanting a mixer with better sound, or more features eventually.

I honestly would go for it though, especially if the 40-50 records are half decent. It will get you started, youll either get tired of djing eventually, or else youll start loving it and upgrade your equipment when you have the money.

I think it will be the latter.
