Koffi Annan needs to be impeached as head of the UN and the nations need to vote for someone of substance to lead them. After all, how does some dumb motherf*cker from Ghana (of all places) think he has the ability to lead an organization of nations? The UN is just a friggin circus these days. Honsetly, tell me what he has done bad? Its not like the UN sucks because of him, but rather because of the structer of the UN and the countries who doesnt follow it.

I think its not what the UN does, it is what it doesn't do. The veto system doesn't work, Annan has no real power, the UN is pretty much just an aid organization and has no clout. Do you think the North Koreans would tremble if the UN told them to stop enriching uranium? The idea for the UN is a good one but unless nations are all equal someone is always going to feel like they are getting the raw end of the deal. It is really tough to say that a smaller country like estonia for example is equal with a US, Russia, or China. In a single world body equality would be the ideal but when you have certain countries that contribute a lot more in money, aid, and soldiers then it really is not equal when they have more up for stake.
