Well, C2 has been out in the United States for quite some time now. This soda has about 1/3rd of the amount of sugar as is in regular soda. Pepsi Edge boasts similarly less sugar content, but I havent really seen it in any stores.
What are your feelings on these new colas? With less sugar, theyere obviously better for your teeth and for those losing weight. Additionally, I think they taste better than original coke or pepsi, which is an overwhelming burst of sugar. I really like C2, and I havent had Pepsi Edge yet. What are your feelings?

i remember talking about Pepsi 1 in my marketing class and the teacher told us that the only reason that they called it Pepsi 1 was because guys didnt feel masculine drinking Diet Pepsi. i think these are just extensions of that same concept.

Kind of, but pepsi 1 focussed on calories, and not necessarily through sugar (though sugar played a big role in it). These sodas use essentially the same recipe, but add more flavoring from the kola nut as opposed to over flavoring with sugar. I like the change.

well for some reason, there have been so many things that pepsi corp has come out with and failed and coke has come out with just as meny, if nor more things and have failed only a few times. I drink C2 all the time. in fact im drinking one right now, but i see pepsi edge dying, just like the majority of other things they've tried...

I don't understand how it can be better for your teeth.
Sure there's less sugar, but coke and pepsi are still made with phosphoric acid, which will erode pretty much anything (your teeth and stomach included)
Phosphoric acid (as the ingredient itself) has to be shipped to Pepsi and Coca-Cola processing facilities in a HAZMAT truck, that stuff is so dangerous.

Because bacteria that cause cavities live essentially on sugars. Being the sticky syrup that colas are, some generally sticks to your teeth. The less sugar in the mix, the less of the concoction that will stick to your teeth, and thus the less food for cavity-causing bacteria. Yes Phosphoric acid is quite dangerous, but the mix of soda also neutralizes many of its effects. It still causes damage, but not nearly as much as if you swallowed a motuhful of the stuff.

I like C2... it's just too damn pricey. Some people think it's just Diet Coke + regular Coke, but it's not. They did a pretty good job of making it taste pretty much like regular Coke.
The only "diet" sodas I can tolerate are Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr Pepper. Surprisingly Diet Dr Pepper tastes just like regular Dr Pepper (which is saying, they both suck... but lack of alternatives I'll still drink it on occassion ) Diet Coke... *barf*
jonz234... I always wondered why the hell Pepsi had Pepsi 1 and Diet Pepsi. Makes sense now... Pretty lame of Pepsi though

The only reason they're able to control the carbs / sugar content in the new colas is because of the artificial sweeteners they use. I know a number of people who have adverse reactions to these sweeteners (headaches) and, as with everything chemical, it could have effects on your body long-term.
I just prefer not to drink soda at all

1 of those people being me. I used to get headaches all the time and couldnt figure out why. Then there was this Dateline or Primetime show about aspartame in cola's and how it caused tumors in lab mice.
I realized i was drinkng diet coke nonstop, so i quit. No more headaches now
I also can't eat most mints and mint-chewing gums either. They all contain Phenylanine (aspartame)
