noob, looking for track suggestions...1st post....
and b4 any1 says look in begginers thread i looked and was kinda overwhelmed. this is my first post so be kind, but i was looking to get into trance/dance music and was looking to burn a cd, but i have no idea what to get. i really am interested and i have a few tracks i really like. they might be lame to a veteran trance listener but i really like iio "rapture" and dj encore "i see right through to you". so if that music falls into a category can you guys suggest some other songs like it and any other good dance music. thx

It's easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of trance available, so I can sympathize. It sounds like you're leaning towards vocal trance so here are some suggestions that might please you.
Delerium ft. Sarah McLachlan - Silence (DJ Tiesto In Search of Sunrise remix)
This song is generally regarded as one of the finest vocal trancers ever made. It's an amazing song and can be found on numerous compilation cds.
Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes
This song was released last year to huge critical acclaim; it won this website's "Track of the Year" award as voted on by the TA masses. There are a number of decent remixes of this song; Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ who spins weekly radio shows and he made a remix that was quite popular.
Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden remix)
Gabriel & Dresden are two American producers and DJs who work together and are quite popular nowadays. They have numerous remixes under their belt and a new cd called "Bloom". All are worth checking out, and this song especially.
If you want to run a search for vocal trance, there are countless other threads to find some resources. If you get overwhelmed, just pick a couple of songs that sound cool and listen to them and see if you like them or not.
To tail onto what Piazza said, I would check out the Amateur DJ forum, and just download sets. The more you listen and follow tracklists, the more you'll get a feel for what you like.
Oh yeah. Download anything posted by jcosgrove
