UMX mixer series...

hey guys i just noticed taht the gemini umx mixers are really cheap now..im talking 50% the price cut off... Im thinking of getting the UMX-9 mixer since it's the best and only costs $200us dollars. I'm wondering if anyone out there have used any of the umx series mixer..>?

Yeah, I've tried the UMX-9 and the UMX-5.. both are great!!
The 5 is more for scratching, but the 9 is compatible for both massive scartching and massive mixing.
It has great sound quality, awesome faders, it's as durable as a tank, very comfortable to work with.. and the VU metters are very good.
It's the best mixer in the 200$-300$ price range IMO.

Haven't used the UMX-9, but I used the UMX-5 last nightfor my gig... It's pretty good, got all the features you would need. They've had it for a few years now, and had no problems with the crossfader as yet, so that seems to last pretty well. However, I can't vouch for this myself since I use the line faders rather than the crossfader. On that note, it's perfectly adequate as a trance/house mixer as long as you use the faders. The Xfader is a little short and doesn't have enough resistance for trance mixing.
The eq's seem to be pretty reasonable as well, and there is a pan control for each channel as well.
I have to agree with alonzo that it looks to be built like a tank! Can't really tell you much about the sound quality though, it was hooked up to a big PA and its difficult to tell with such a big system.
