Head Rush - Sphinx (Original Mix) UPDATED!

the product of about one month of hard work... after getting a review from les hemstock on another one of my previous tracks, it encouraged me to work hard and *hopefully* reach a new level of production for myself...

I had the unfinished version posted a couple days ago, and got some nice constructive feedback... Thanks to IKKI-ZUVK, DJ-Kreing, pho mo, sunquest and ichiro for leaving comments.

I guess this track was quite influenced by the 1999/2000 type tracks... Just wanted to do something that didn't sound like too much your typical trance and having a lot of energy...

Hope you enjoy it and doesn't end up in your trash bin right away when you download it , and here it is:

Oh, and feedback would be greatly appreciated

first off, the intro is VERYYYY busy hehe
gotta let more percs come in while the track is moving on, not all at once ....
besides that, the mastering is excellent i think
and like i said before, amazing pharo of egypt style mixed with a little ferry corsten space sounds!!!!!
love it m8
just the intro needs a little work, string is too loud in the middle of the song (too sharp and too much high on it maybe), the kick needs a little loud, or just lower the whole song volume but the kick.. just a little... and last, the strings and melody u got going on in the end, thats just off the whole track i think, should just remove that part...
other than that great work
thanx for sharing!!!!
peace out

Lets put canada on the trance map once and for all

nice beat, reminds me alot on david forbes-questions must be asked.

I prefer a funky bass on this or a more aggressive sounding one.

that phaser part is a bit loud.

i really love the breakdown, amazing piece of work with sounds.

climax is kinda weak, i expected some suburban train style outburst with the strings and the strings that come back sound really nice in chord terms but they are a bit thin.

my only thing is, the intro sounds really a whole other tune than the stuff in and after the break, and i digg that more than the intro.

Considering a remix hehe, love the break part .

I must agree with Sunquest on the intro part. Its very busy. Its banging right away, not much of a build up. Overall though, i like this alot. Cool fx in there.

And yes the breakdown is superb. Those spacey fxs do it for me...

Nice work on this.

I REALLY like this. That intro is sweet, trippy as fuck; would love to hear how it sounded in a dark loud club. A couple of criticisms:

-That high chime thing that comes in at 1:20 is a little too casio sounding. Would work on that sound a bit.
-The percs (particularly the open hat) could use a little more sharpness/presense.
-The middle eastern lead sound synth could be a little more crisp.
-The low pad is nice, but the high one is a little thin sounding.
-The kick and percs are quite drowned after the buildup.

Overall this is a really cool track, a ton of good ideas in here and very original sounding which is a breath of fresh air. Thanks for posting this.

i really like this, the bass is a little bit special, some of the hi end synth noises are a bit mental, the intro is somewhat mental aswell lol, should be fun mixing that heh. it gets a bit muddy after 2 mins, sounds like a compression issue with the bass. kicks in somewhat weak after the break, bit too many ethnic kinda noises in it for me too. great work tho, full marks for the originality, it's a good listen

Thanks Digital rain and E-S for listening.. glad that you enjoyed

Sean and Luke, I've listend to your comments and have made some changes based on those comments as well as with massive's and sunquest's comments... these will probably be my last changes for this track.. thank you very much !
Mainly changes on the mixing, clarity issues, and fixing up the compression (felt it was overcompressed first time around) and changing the buildup b/c it lacked energy the first time around...

I will be posting it sometime tommorow b/c I still have to render it and upload it which will take a bit of time..
