Ok. dont know if you have listened to the new Robert Nickson track, Twisted by Design, played in the last ASOT. At least they look very similar to me in the break down

i recognise the chord sequence but hold on a sec! alot of music reuses the same chord or interval progressions. half of rock music uses A, D, G. or F, G, A. listen to mauro picotto's lizard, then tiesto's mix of silence. same scale all the way through. lydian. not only that but the chords at the end of silence and in the middle of lizard are the same (although you will hear there are slight variations on the idea). those chords and that progression is indentical to brown eyed girl which is an old folk song. the point is this. you can keep that chord sequence but change it a bit! add some 5ths, 7ths or 11ths. basically modify it and make it your own. invert some of the chords. change the pattern so it descends further, or ascends a bit at the end. try using a different reference scale. theres plenty of ways you can modify it and twist it into your own song.
