Question: CD vs Vinyl sound

Please keep this from turning into another CD vs Vinyl debate.

I want to know if any of you can honestly tell the difference sound wise between a full quality (NOT mp3) CD track, and that same track on vinyl, in a large, audiophile system.

No. Or at least, I think I can't. Never tested it though.

I can't tell the difference -- Especially over a large sound system like they have in the clubs. Between the natural reverberation and so forth, I don't think it's possible.

Alright, I guess that answers that. I couldn't really notice when I saw James Zabiela, then again I was wearing ear plugs.

Is the difference really that obvious to you? I mean, quality wise (not "oh, some crackles and pops, it must be a record"). I know we're DJs, we're supposed to have an ear for this thing, but when you're down on the floor dancing, and you're not watching the DJ booth, can you listen and say to yourself "ok this one's a CD... this one's a record... so is this one... and this one's a CD..." ?

When I saw JZ, those CD's still sounded pretty banging. And with guys like Sasha switching to all-CD, I guess it can't be that big? (Of course, BT says he's half deaf)
