CDX vs Axis 9

Here's the deal:

I don't know which to buy...I want to go digital, because I don't have access to vinyl here...

The price range between the Numark CDX and Axis 9 here is about $44.

I'm worried if I buy the Axis 9's I may need more then the Axis 9's and have to move on, but the thing is the CDX and Axis 9's have different features and the CDX's are probably more professional....they have more features and stuff, but I don't know if spending around $44 is worth it. I'm a beginner and have never DJ'ed before, so I'm thinking stick with Axis 9's and upgrade if I need to in around a year....

Any input?

i have never used the vestax CDX05 (assuming that is the CDX you mean ), but however it does look very cool and i would love to have a bash on one. it has a few cool things which are missing on the axis 9, including samplers and more hot cues. the axis 9 also has a few things the cdx05 doesn't have, primarily more effects to choose from.

to be honest, i would be inclined to go with the vestax, that extra money will be going on build quality, plus you can hook it up with one of those tascam things to use it with a deck for scratching your CD's.

the axis 9 is a great beginner's cd deck, i don't think you would be dissapointed with either to be honest. also worth a look, its again a little more expensive than the vestax, but well worth the money is the denon DNS1000. looking at the specs, its the probably the best CD deck you can get for under £400. here it is £30 mmore than the vestax, and for that you get better precision with lots of other cool features.. http://www.decks.co.uk/products/cdplayers/denon/dns1000

ah, then there is no question. get the numark CDX, apart from the 0.1% pitch increment, its supposed to be the best cd deck on the market. you may find the increments (steps that the pitch moves up & down in) a pain in the arse if you are using 2 of them without turntables, but its definitely managable.
