Cheers to that!
Every year when this date comes around I think hard about the men and women that served and went abroad selflessly; linked arm-in-arm with our American and Commonwealth brothers and sisters against an unfathomable terror across the ocean.
I find a vet, shake his hand and say thanks.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for your courage and
Thank you for my freedom
Even in an age which seems to have forgotten, I have not.

The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all change to silver glass...and then you see it...
...white shores...and beyond...the far green country under a swift sunrise."

My infinite respects to the people who fought for our country and made it what it is, a land of the free.
Also, I have no school that day, so thanks for that too!
Respect to those who have left a mark full of optimism for the future of this nation.

Remember it is Armistice Day. The day that ended hostilities in World War I.
I give my humble thanks to anyone who serves their country's forces proudly and to remember people who have died defending their nation across the world.

One in a while, Dan Rather has a moment of lucidity.
Check out this link for a great tribute to the soldier from the CBS Evening News.
