"Hypernova" - Trippy Trance Track

Yeah.. it's christmas and I don't know any better than making music... call me a nerd, addict or whatever...

This one goes very much in the same direction as my other track "Chaosphere"... that means quite dreamy, yet melodic trance influenced by Goa/Psytrance and Rave ... my interpretation of trippy trance. Running at slightly reduced speed (137BPM).

Equipment: Fruity Loops Studio 4, Audiorealism Bassline, Linplug Albino 2 and ReFX Vanguard.

Scenario: Dreamvoid

Inspiration: Event Horizon, Tron

Download Cybernetica - Hypernova

Enjoy

listening.. dont like the bass progression, vocals are cool, cool wierd sounds.. like the mysteries gated synth.. kind of trippy and experimental.. i like that.. but the thing that annoys the hell out of me when listening, is the chord progression of the bass.. i think it sounds awful.. change the notes in the bass and ur on to something.. vocals are cool

Thanks for your comment. I dont know why you're annoyed by the bassline progression but I'll consider changing it a bit.

Some more questions... What do you think about production/mastering issues? Do you think the melody is off key? Thanks in advance.

Mastering and mixing was ok..

I believe it was offkey yes.. even only the bassline itself was offkey I would believe.. (but i am NOT an expert on that issue) but the bassline wasnt good at all.. not the sound itself, but the notes the bassline is hitting.. i think i hear an awful out of place black-key there..

bass is pissing me off too... it needs to fill out the track and fit in better... it's not sitting right in this mix, try lowering it an octave as well, would soudn much better, imo

fx are cool, vox is wierd... i'm really not familiar with goa/psy trance but the structure of this song is very experimental and nontraditional

side subject: I own a Meshuggah album called 'Chaosphere'; it's my fav heavy album of all time. Their riffs are insane!! you wouldnt happen to be a fan yourself??

Anyways. Hypernova;

0:14 I like the bass drum

0:30 Hihat overly 'tinny'. nice bass.

1:10 love that high pitched rythme screechen aroumd

1:55 weird arabic style rythme. crazy! Freaken catchy tune!

3:35 bass rythme changes. some freaky layers are added.

4:12 haha sounds like some olde analogue synth. Ahhh those were teh the good ole days.

4:40 love it!

5:30 some pretty kickass layering going on here.

Sorry Cybernetica; I dont have much critism this time. I really enjoyed this track. Your tracks just keep getting better & better!!

Thanks for your comment, glad you like it.

Yes, I knew i've heard that title 'chaosphere' once... I've heard a lot of metal for a long time before I came to electronic music so I know Meshuggah... Definately cool stuff, however im more into straighter stuff like Fear Factory

Great FX.

That guy called me a bad mother******.

I hesitate to say it was a nice track. Confrontational and mean-spirited fit the bill much better. I will say that I enjoyed it. Thumbs up for you. b^^d
