if i used sound forge to record my mix... and during one of my transitions the beats to gallop... off beat obviously, is there anyway i can use sound forge to fix that???? make it sounds like the beats were matched??

the easiest way is to put markers (hit "M" where the cursor is either stopped or playing) and that will put a red marker at that spot. put a marker at the start of the splice and at the end. whenever i am cutting, i try to keep in 32 or 64 (or at least 16) beat counts so it doesnt sound odd. i will usually also re-build the file by copying the stuff before the first marker into a new file, then pasting the new splice after that. by doing it this way, i find it easer to get the volumns correct. then add the stuff after it.

you should be able to match it up where you cant tell that you did that.

if it is a small gallop , then just leave it.. everyone is not perfect, and why should you try to make yourself out to be? If you must have a perfect sounding mix, practise some more until you get it right.. If i start messing up large, I do it all over..

Absolutely. Though I wouldn't agree that it's ok to send out mixes that gallop around all over the place. Just re-record it, and get it right.

There's little point in doctoring a mix in Soundforge, getting a set off the back of it and looking a right tit when you can't do it for real...

Like they said above, dont try to correct it if the whole thing is that way... And if you are going the route of doing this, make sure you take your time at it. My newest mix I did (located here: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=220185 )
I had to splice it from 2 different mixes.. but that was just due to me needing to take my dogs out 1/2 way through mixing. I believe track #5, somewhere in the breakdown contains the splice. It is a lot easier to do stuff like this when

a.) you do all your recording at 1 time so your levels are the same
b.) you dont splice during a mix, you splice in the middle of the song where the wavs the same. if you splice durint a mix, you dont have the same wavs and thus, you can tell if you do it.

thanks for all the help everyone, I wasn't trying to make myself out to be something I'm not.. but just editing something (1 or 2 minor things) coudln't hurt.. instead of starting ALL OVER AGAIN... U know ? But everyone's right, do it your way, until it's right than ...
