my appreciation goes out to anyone who can help! |
as tranceferd suggested one track, i will suggest one too .... but i mostly write goa and psy, so this might be unsuitable for you.
track is written in 16ths, 'b' stands for notes 32th long (half of 16th), and 'B' one 16th long (k is kick of course).
k _ _ _ k _ _ _ k _ _ _ k _ _ _
- b B _ _ b B b _ b B _ _ b _ B
... or something like that.
of course, you could also fill the blanks in the bassline with notes 32th long, and with a lower velocity (for example, 30-40) to get that neat rolling effect. if you fill the blanks with lower velocity notes, do not use delay, because it will start to sound muddy. to play a bassline like this, you will need a bass sound which has a really short release. for this sound i made a preset in pentagon vst synth, based on a 'unison' patch, but most basses with short release times will do.
