Benjamin Bates Interview: Your Input

I'm going to do an interview with Dutch hero Benjamin Bates within a few weeks, which will be put up on ivibes.nu when it's finished.

I've already posted an article on the ivibes frontpage, but I thought you guys here might want to be part of it as well by sending in your questions for him to the e-mail addy mentioned in the article, or by just replying in this forum topic or the one belonging to the article on the site.

So, don't hesitate, the best / most interesting questions will be used in the interview, it's definitely worth it!

why did you put crappy short edits of every track on your album although there was space for good long version?

(i would have bought it right away if it had included a full version of lost myself)

Do you listen to listener feedback?

How do you handle negative feedback?

Would you ever go on a message board, like tranceaddicts, to talk to your critics? Why or why not?

How do you maintain your integrity as an artist in the world of fame and glamour that Dj’s and producers find themselves in today?

Do you think these large events like Sensation, TIC , etc. Are good for dance music? Why or why not? Many argue that this type of commercialization of dance music will destroy its artistic value. Do you agree or disagree? Please explain.

Why do you think the NL has embraced dance music so much whilst other countries like the USA have not? For example, in the NL you have large events like Sensation, TIC, etc. The equivalent to an American rock show. Your thoughts.

Would it be correct in saying that you alter your DJ’ing approach depending the venue/crowd you play for? If so, how does your approach differ when you dj in Amsterdam vs. Chicago or Boston etc. Please explain or give an example.

What music did you grow up listening too? Did it effect you current style or taste in music? Please explain.

[Please ask these questions verbatim. Thank you]
