Alright... All I seem to do these days and think of new things to add to this place and add to the ever-growing list of shit I plan to do..

Eventually this WHOLE site will be catered to individual profiles linked to your forum ID -> more on this in coming months...

Here's today's idea..

Set up something like TA Points (TranceAddict Points) where those who contribute good stuff on a regular basis get noted for it and rewarded as such.. for instance:

If you send me an mp3(liveset/single), music video (and I didn't already have it and decide it's post-worthy material) or you identify an unknown track, you get points as follows:

MP3:

10 Points = Liveset
5 Points = Single

VIDEO:

8 Points

Identifying A Track:

1 Point (If an easy popular one)
2 Points (If it's a hard one)

...The possibilities are endless.. same could be said for tracklist submission/cue files..etc... this way those of you that contribute have a measure of how much you've given and others can see that......

Then when the site is big enough and I can afford it maybe I can send out free cds of choice to those who reach certain # of points... etc..

How are you gonna give the points, doesn't it take a lot of time, maybe it's better just to find mixes and singles and that sort of stuff than this. (my opinion of course)

I don't think that you have to make a lot of changes to the site, it's great as it is already.

The thing is... once all the other changes are done this is EASY to do..

I already Thank the people that sent it in the mixes/mp3s/videos section... so when I thank them I thank their username on the forums here...

Eventually the whole site will be database driven.. so.. when I add a track or vid I also type in their username and the ID # of the track or vid - and the # of points they get... once everything is set up it might take an extra 30 seconds of work per item added - no big deal.

As well since there's an incentive people will send me more stuff that they get, faster in the hopes that someone else won't beat them to it and they get credit..

...and the Unknown Tracks stuff - as soon as a track is ID'ed the thread is closed -- prompting another window to come up to enter the userID of the person to give credit for the ID for - Simcut can do this as moderator of that forum.

Easy as pie.

In that case, DO IT, sounds great to me, although I don't think that I get a lot of credit, cause I'm not very into all the nem trance-stuff. but that doesn't matter. If it is that easy, than i think it's a great idea.

Arrrrghhh!!! Don't do it ... otherwise I'll just spend all my time logged onto this site and looking for trance music. Heh, just kidding sounds like a great idea. Mebe with some motivation for everyone to contribute this will become the best trance site no hands down.

Good idea...gives incentive for peeps to contribute to the site..
