i want a mid range graphics card but dunno what to get (i dont know anything about graphics cards). Can someone recommend me something which will run games like unreal tournament 2004/call of duty smoothly + at decent settings, also possibly games like colin mccrae rally 2005 (on low settings).

my pc(yes it sucks):
amd duron 1.6GHz
256MB RAM

Also, is there any point in getting an expensive card if my pc specs suck? + would upgrading my RAM to 768MB make any difference to games either?

Get another 256MB RAM and a Radeon 9600Pro/XT and you should be set to play games decently, but don't expect amazing performance, partly because your CPU kinda blows, no offense.

If you can wait, save up for a new PC.
