lol
I was bored- so i dug out one of my old soundlab direct drives from the loft and hooked it up for some third deck action - i finally have a desk big enough to add a 3rd ( i do it at work all the time- just never done it at home as i didnt have one wired up or the space)
erm...
It made everything sooo much harder.
touch the record and it flies about 3 beats forward or slows down too much. Use pitch bend and its still all over the place.
They were great to learn on as they made everything so much harder which makes you concentrate more on what you are doing i suppose.
As ive been using techs night in night out for years and havent used much else in that time (bar the odd vestax), it felt sooo strange!
For a laugh i set up both in place of the technics- i felt like a beginner again who couldnt pitch properly . !!
So: for sale- as new condition soundlab direct drives fitted with stanton 500s, and one 4 input/2 channel (yellow) mixer with kill switches.. will swap the lot for one SL 1200 turntable. Perfect for beginner or cash-strapped n00b
