<ahem> wahoo!

sorry for the cryptic thread title - i put a bid on an access virus b in the last 10 minutes of an ebay auction not really expecting to win it. i never win anything on ebay. and if i had a chance, someone always pushes me over budget and back off. except this time i won it i got it for £390. whereas the cheapest ive seen a virus classic (brand new) is £669.99. how does that size up against other second hand virus buyers? suffice to say, if this one delivers and the item description matches the product - im quite a happy chappy. and a bit stunned. this is my first hardware synth. wow. i really wanted zeta and/or ultra analog for christmas but i guess they have to go on hold for a bit now :O

now to figure out how to hook a hardware unit up to my soundcard... hope i got enough guitar leads...

Hey, thats pretty cheap - I've checked out some of the ads on sound on sound and most Virus Bs go for between 400-500 quid. Nice job.

for some reason nobody was bidding on it in the last 5 minutes...as traditionally happens. you know, when the price goes up like 200 quid in the last minute cuz of bidding frenzy (it must be mine!)

theres a roland jp 8080 on there (with a reserve) for uk buyers. also, theres a few novation supernovas (keyboards and rackmounts) that seem to go insanely cheaply. i was watching one supernova 2 keyboard (like new, boxed) and it got to £251 (reserve not met). i guess that person is gonna relist it soon. but im surprised nobody went for it.

Hah lucky maniac.

They ALWAYS go for way more than that. I watch them just for fun and it's hillarious how in the last minute, people get crazy and involved in the bidding war. They always go past the $1,000 mark. Talking about Virus, I just sold my Virus B. I miss it but now the AN1x is giving me the treatment it never gave me when the Virus was 6 inches from it, LOL. What a monster synth.

yea its sometimes frustrating in the last minute when everyone gets bidding fever and is refreshing the page like mad and someone always bids a stupid amount they cant afford. i think alot of people are selling their old viruses to get TIs or something cuz theres alot on ebay at the mo. JPs dont turn up so much but in the last minute they always escalate to about £400-500 when about 10 people are madly refreshing the page in the last 30 seconds.

the auction i won the virus b there was only 2 other people bidding on it. none in the last 10 minutes. which i found was unusual. thats like the first auction ive got that wasnt a buy it now. i guess all the people in the uk that want a virus have got one now
