Need a little help

I have just put together a new mix cd tonight. I realized though that sometimes my mixer is dropping the volume of the L channel a little while I am using the pitch slide. I was wondering if any of you are good at mastering and would care to clean up the volume peaks and adjust the L volume in the parts that are affected since I don't know how

sounds like you just have some beat cancellation/clashing going on. it happens sometimes when you got both songs bass levels up and the beats are slightly off making them cancel each other out, especially when u are trying to fix it with the pitch slider. it doesnt really have anything to with your mixer.

or i could be completely wrong, and if i am, forgive me

a friend of mine masters my mixes, so i can't help you there. sorry bud.

Mike, yea, i know about bass cancellation, thats not it though. This is a problem with my mixer itself. It has a spot on the fader of one of the channels where audio is lower on one side. It's a contact problem with the slider, but I tried using contact cleaner and it didn't work. What I am probably going to do is throw it in soundforge, take the good channel (the right side) and copy it onto the left side so both have the right levels -- if you follow what I am saying. The peaks don't need much tweaking so I might just leave them alone all together.

On that note, later tonight I should have a new mix up and I will post it. I have changed up my style a little bit so I would appreciate feedback. Thanks

Hey Dirkie, if you wanna send it my way I'll be happy to see what I can do with it. I've mastered my mixes and some others and haven't had any complaints yet.

Good to see you have a new mix comin'...can't wait to check it out.

Well, I threw it in Soundforge and I ended up copying the channel and mirroring it so the levels are correct on both sides now. I didn't use any songs that used panning effects or anything, so it should be okay. The mix is ready to go, but I am waiting on globalbeatz to host it. I paid so I could have more mixes hosted, but I did it this afternoon and they haven't upgraded my account yet

I guess you will be able to hear it tomorrow or monday unless you want me to send it to any of yall via AIM or something comparable.

You may wanna have it posted to www.teknosounds.com as well. I'm good friends with Nick there and he loves Trance. He likes hosting Texas talent and I know it will receive a good amoutn of hits. You'll have to ftp it to him, but that's it.

If you need to, signup and then let Nick know you're a friend of mine and you should be set.
