Smile Melodic/uplifting track

Hey TA's, this my first attempt at producing. I still have a loads of work to do on it like the arrangement of certain parts (it maybe too long) and the synths need fine tuning some what. Then theres the mastering which I havent done much on it so far, but its a start for now. Its a melodic/uplifting track let me know what you guys think

I havent got a name for it yet so if anyone has any ideas that would be great.

Cheers

Hey Justin

Good start to the song.
Nice bass - not sure about the double clap - sounds a bit e-jay.

I like The break beat part - very atmoshperic. This is a superb first song - it reminds me a bit of some of Ferrys new stuff to be honest. I cant believe this is your first song is it? YOu sound like you've been doin it for a good while.
Brilliant stuff

Ricky

Right - now ive rated yours can you give me feedback on mine - i have a thread on this subforum - down at the bottom somewhere - 'Underwater themed Trance - Nyana influenced synths' it could be on the 2nd page somewhere if not on the first. Tell me what you think.

Come one RickyM, stop kissing ass just to get him to listen to YOUR track. The soundquality is very poor in this one, and that pling-lead is kinda funny. But I can hear that you've listened to music, and know how to develop a song. Keep on producing, you'll progress. Tip: Learn how to master. I started with soundforge, and finetuned the frequenzies, and it was a revolution to me.

I resent that accusation Alex - i thought his song was excellent for a first attempt - obviously it isnt perfect but I didn't say it was. I did hear similarities at one point to Ferry - maybe thats just me. But I wasn't brown nosing him - I was giving him my opinion - as a first track I think it is great.

Cheers for the feedback ricky its much appreciated. I may loose that double clap I had a standard one i'll prob go back to that. Its my first tune, but I have been working on it for a couple of months or so. Ill check out you tune and give you some feedback.

AlexPea - yeah mastering is something that I am going to be working on alot soon, I havent done any on this track at all but I will take your advice as I need all i can get cheers for your feedback. Do you use soundforge to master your tracks or was that just to help you learn?

hey hey
ok first lower off the reverb on the kick, already in the beginning i noticed theres a little echo on the kick, which is no good
then make the kick muuuuuch louder, as well as bass, needs all louder
could also use a little more percs...

the melody is really good, its just that the song sounds too amatuer right now, but dont worry keep this stuff up and ull be there in no time ur definatly on the right track....

ok ttyl

I think you should leave this track and start on a new one. That's the only way to progress. Don't dig in the same hole too long, you know It will get you nowhere.

ok music2dance2 here goes, first up i'm only producing about 8months myself so i know how difficult it is at the start.

but for me it seems you have grasped alot of the fundementals, i.e use percussion, have lots of elements so tune doesnt sound empty and keep it melodic and interesting, which it is. bass gets very lost thou remember kick n bass carry your track.

keep at it because it wont be long before you start improving, i've just finished my 3rd track and i cant even stomach to listen to my first track now which is a good sign i think
