I agree with that. 
It seems common for some people to fear some of what they don't understand...or at least, I find it more common for people to readily accept that which they understand than what they don't understand. Even a small degree of prejudice will make or break an opinion on something that would be seemingly brand new; people fear being caught totally off-guard though, so it makes the discernation of totally new concepts somewhat of a shock to those who have pride in their "knowledge".
