Mix / Remix / Rework

What is the difference between these three concepts: mix, remix and rework?

A mix is usually done by the same artist like an original mix or an extended mix. A remix is a total rehaul of the song by a different artist. And a Rework is often remix of a remix or like like the title suggest a reworking where not much extra added to the tune.

I think thats right but any1 else know any different?

Peace

In my mind, a remix is done when the result is sufficiently different from the original (a dance remix of a pop/rock tune, for example). Many seem to use the terms interchangeably these days so I can't tell the difference anymore .

A rework is done when some elements are added to the original track, without access to the original samples, I believe. In contrast, a dub is basically a stripped down version.

I would really like to hear what other people think, anyways.
