What is a good sound fx processors for the money? I was looking at the staton, pioneer, other common namebrands. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience. THx.

depends on what effects processors you want to use. TC fireworx are amazing but its an expensive unit. you'll need to rack it if you plan on using it out. lexicon pcm91 is one of the best reverb units you can buy but that again costs a bomb. first' you'll need to specify a price range and then specify what effects you are looking for. or whether you are looking for multi effects processors. in most cases multi effects processors are audibly inferior to dedicated effects units. also, pioneer, stanton etc are more consumer electronics/dj oriented. the effects you get on their mixers and so forth are generally pretty bad. if you are all midi'ed up you can hook a PC up, sync it to midi and use VSTi effects alot of which are very good and which dont break the bank but you MUST watch your cpu load otherwise things can get ugly and it'll start stuttering if you use too many effects simultaneously or some of the big nasty cpu munchers like waves IR-1 (impulse response reverb. very nice. very expensive)

Korg Kaoss pad 2 Great for djing, and producing, best all rounder for the money.

Pioner efx500 Good efx unit, but mostly tailored for djing. Not as creative, or unique as the kp2 (korg kaoss pad 2) but more simplistic, and functional for gigs.

Also behringer (cringe) is bringing out an efx unit called the something dfx tweakalizer. It actually looks pretty promising. Hopefully it will be more like their studio equipment, rather than dj equipment.
Its gonna sell for under a hundred bucks
