I'm not from Berlin, but I was there for some time for the Loveparade this year. You'll find a decent recordstore called World of Music in the area of Europa center (tall tall building) - for the precise location just ask the friendly people around there.
As for clubs I bought a magazine called raveline which was pretty much like mix-mag/muzik/ministry in that the clubs in germany was listed as well as the type of music they was playing in them. Included in the mag was a poster with a map of Berlin including subways and the clubs that had special Loveparade-events. PM me your email and I'll scan it for you.
The only club I was at, was the Arena/Glashaus which had a good line up (Tomcraft and Taucher springs to mind) but a awful sound system. There's room for some 3000 people, and that might be the reason.

You can look forward to your stay, the young germans were very friendly towards foreigners and not as snobby as I've experienced it elsewhere (London), and they do know good music when they hear it

Somebody told me about "World of Music" in Berlin, thank for mentioning it. Do they also sell Vinyl or only CDs?

Both! But their vinyls is a mess to go through, so arm yourself with patience.

Hardwax is one of the BIGGEST record stores around. But TRANCE clubbing in Berlin is quite difficult. Lots of hard techno and gay house
I'll look into some websites and tell you more later...

hmh...its really difficult...in berlin are many clubs...but trance is rare...i was @ Casino to PvD and there i had a flyer on my carwindow...the club MATRIX has now a new floor...techno, trance and hardtrance...every saturday...but dont ask me how it is...have not checked this club @my hometown ;-)

you can find the CASINO @ Mühlenstraße 26-30...drive with S-train to station Warschauer Straße or Ostbahnhof...the Casino is betwenn this two stations...

and the Matrix...;-)...you can find it in the station Warschauer straße...

the other club is clubXS and the Kit Kat Club...but i think there are all gayppl..didnt were there...
