Yves Deruyter - Born slippy

I dunno nothing ever beats the Original (Except maybe Van Dyk Remix), this tune is just lame imo. Nothing stands out from it to me, it just seems pretty amatuer sounding

YdR version is ok but nothing special. I could have survived without this remake.

About Underworld's original Born Slippy, seems that everyone are just referring to the .NUXX version because the real original Born Slippy is totally different and actually has nothing to do with the .NUXX version except the title.. it doesn't even have the familiar melody. Original is much deeper and darker and more technoish or something. Underworld did a million and one versions of Born Slippy but only one is the real original and that's not the .NUXX version(s) with vocals. It can be found on Pearl's Girl cd-single for example, slightly edited tho.

Yes I have the original CD single of Born Slippy, it has 5 mixes on it I think. Some of them are very cool indeed.

Yes, i have the original CD release too (finally after years of searching, had only the promo 2x12" release from early '95 until i recently got hold of the CDM) but the Pearl's Girl cd single is easier to get hold of i think if anyone wants to get the Born Slippy original..

As a remix or cover version (or whatever you want to call it), it's pretty lame. However, if you want a cheap pop when you're DJ'ing to a big crowd, play 'em this. They go nuts.

Pretty sure that was the NUXX mix which made it big. It was the one that got radio-edited and played on the radio anyway.

Thumbs down

I don't really like this....i think it's a mediocre production at best.

The Paul Van Dyk Mix is still the best remix of Born Slippy that i have ever heard, but apparently it has never been released on vinyl

Having said that, the LIVE version that Underworld do is the BEST version of the track that i have ever heard. It is absolutely nuts!

I can't stop listening to this Underworld Live in Melbourne (2003) set that i have.
