demo draft - comments please

hello people,

first attempt in this style (what would you call this anyway?)

any and all comments, feedback, suggestions, ideas...are very welcome.

as always, it's a very rough draft: i haven't mixed it properly, not done too much of effects...blabla... basically, would like to know if I should or should not waste more time on this.

thanks(it's appreciated) and take care,

vent

PS yes, the percussion intro is long, 1:20s into it, is where it really begins.

- The percs in intro are pretty nice.
- This track definatly has a unique feel to it, kinda chill, kinda hard..
- I think its too emtpy up to around 2:00. Add some more elements, like simple pads.
- Lower your strings an octave.
- Overalll, throughout the song, you need more prominent percs.
- Very cool feeling from the song, just work it out a bit so there is more of it. That prolly doenst make sense, heh.

thanks eulerfx,

and I do get what you're saying. It needs some work for sure.

You're right about a nice pad sound, I was thinking about it when I was making the track, just didn't get 'round to it. Will do.

When you say "more prominent percussion", do you mean the ones I have are too low in the mix, or I need other and/or more percs?

One more question about structure, since I'm not at all familiar with this genre: I have a break down at 3:40, with chords changing at around 4:40, bring drums back in at 4:40 and highpoint at 5:00. I kinda feel it's too rushed, especially when I bring the drums back in, I feel I could build it up longer. Is it okay to do massive breakdowns and building back up slowly?? Right now it's 32 bars from chord change to highpoint.

cheers,

vent
